So busy!
posted by kry in everyday lifeLately I’ve been so busy, that I barely have time to blog! What with coming back from holiday, and moving house again soon after, to getting back home from work late in the evening and having to try and settle things at home and opening boxes..so much to do..so little time!
Thinking about it, I didn’t even have time to upload some pictures from our holiday in Barcelona on this blog and on Facebook! I will try to find the time and do so by the end of the week hopefully
I will have to decide which pics to upload though, as we’ve got over 800 pics ![]()
It’s already been nearly two weeks since we moved in our new home! We have now settled down, and already got used to living in the new place by the first week..which was good since i thought it would have taken longer to adjust to living in the new house.
At first it was difficult since it was as if we were living out of boxes – so many things packed up since last April, that you kind of forget where you put things, or in which box! When we moved the furniture in April we made use of a moving services company. In our case, we only needed the moving services company to move our furniture, as we made use of our own personal transport to move the boxes. However, moving companies abroad, such as Relocation.com, also offer other services, such as advice, moving tips, insurance and home improvement advice.
It’s amazing how many things a family owns and collects throughout the years! So many boxes – we still have boxes full of stuff which we are leaving stored in the garage since we won’t be using them again.
One of the many positive aspects is that now, once again, I only have to travel for around 15 mins to get to and from work ![]()
One of the many activities organised as part of the graduation celebrations is the annual Graduation Ball. This year, the theme is black and gold, and it will be held on the 6th December, the weekend following our graduation.
Since there is the black and gold theme, I still have to decide what to wear. I will probably go for a black dress, with gold accessories - simplest way out I think
In today’s organizations, HR, or Human Resource Management, is of utmost importance. After all, people are the key to an organization’s success, and human capital is essential for everyday running of the organization, be it a for-profit organization, or a non-profit one.
Organizations are recognizing the need to invest in people. The philosophy of Human Resource Management is founded upon the belief that the people of a business organization are its greatest asset – an organisation can only be as good as the people it employs, and an organisation benefits if its management holds the view that individuals matter and recognize the value of participation.
Thus, recruitment is a very important process of HR, and great consideration needs to be given when recruiting people. It is not only a question of what sort of people should be recruited today, but also what needs to be done to fit existing employees into the future situation so as to avoid having a surplus of some skills and a shortage of others. Thus, organizations have to keep in mind marketing and production patterns, technological change as well as social and economic change in the recruitment process.
Today, the HR function within an organization is being given a lot of importance, and this is being taken to the advantage of other organizations who specialize in providing HR support to organizations. Nowadays recruitment agencies are very popular, and take at hand the task of finding the right people for organizations. They take over many, or all, aspects of recruitment, including advertising the vacancy, receiving applications, sorting and shortlisting applicants and carrying out interviews, as well as finding the best candidate for the job. Today I also came across an organization who specializes in recruitment training, and they also offer dvds which contain insight and top tips from s ome of the UK’s most successful recruitment experts, to help with recruitment procedures. Thus, help is available out there for organisations who are looking to invest in the best people in the job market.
This weekend we finally moved in our new home
Spent the weekend packing things at the other place where we were temporarily staying, and unpacking again. I still have loads to unpack, but we’re getting there!
It will take time though to settle down! Some things I have no idea where I had put them when I had packed from the other house last May!
Where do you prefer to do your shopping? In the traditional way – by going to the shops, or online? I must say that I do both
I enjoy going to the shops, since it is like an outing, even if I just go to have a look and do window shopping. However, at times, especially when I am busy, I prefer to have a look on the internet, and see what’s available. You get to browse through so many online ‘shops’ and you can compare prices, features etc. And best of all, one of the advantages of the internet is that you get so many good deals and special prices and discounts! Nowadays you can even find coupons and vouchers, which you can use to exchange when you purchase online. You can even find coupons and vouchers, which you can use to exchange when you purchase online. Some companies also offer clubs for customers, where one can join and get extra benefits and points when doing their shopping online. There are even websites specialising in doing just that – offering coupons which can be exchanged with online purchases. Bottom line is that when purchasing online, you can get good deals if you look carefully.
For example last time I had a look at this website, where they are selling eyeglasses. You know what? Prices start at just $8! That is a really good price! As stated in this article,
Many of the 147 million adult eyeglass wearers probably don’t know they could be getting a better price because few shop around. Prices vary widely. People can pay more than $1,000 for a pair of glasses, while at least one Internet provider promises a pair for $8. An identical pair of eyeglasses costs from $178 to $390, depending on the optician or optometrist, according to research in seven U.S. cities by Consumers’ Checkbook, a consumer information guide.
This shows that one needs to have a look at more than one seller, as you can get good deals and great bargains!
Bottom line is that I prefer doing shopping in both ways – online and by going to the shops… and if I get good prices, variety and good choice I am a happy shopper
Yesterday I went to pick my tickets. I’ll be going with a group of friends..should be fun..and best of all it’s free
We’re going to have so many graduation activities! I need to write all the events down in my diary!
Back home from Barcelona!
posted by kry in Uncategorized, everyday life, holidays, places of interest, travelWe were back from Barcelona last Saturday…it went by so quickly! But it was a great holiday and we managed to visit a lot of places
The weather also favoured us, as we had sunny days and nice weather throughout the holiday
We were staying in Barcelona, but apart from Barcelona, we also managed a day trip to Port Aventura in Salou, and another day trip to Montserrat (both days were great! - the best ones). Managed to take loads of pics - over 800!! I still have to choose the best ones to include here in this blog.
Still trying to settle down…came in to work yesterday, and had lots to do! I will write about the holiday, and include some pics some time later on this week!
2 commentsIt’s nearly time to go on holiday..at last
The flights were booked nearly two months ago..time surely went by fast this summer!
At last today I managed to finalise the plan of places to visit, and on which day. I tried to plan the places according to the area where they are situated. On one of the days we should be going to PortAventura, but this really depends on the weather!
Now I only have to prepare the luggage and things to take
The downside is that it will probably be over too soon..as usual! Holidays tend to be over really fast, don’t they?!
