The Gozo Discovery Bus

posted by kry in Gozo, travel

An EU Project, part of Interreg III B Archimed programmes, was recently undertaken by the Islands and Small States Institute at the University of Malta, whereby a tourist discovery bus service was introduced in Gozo for a trial period of 3 weeks between the 16th July and 6 August 2008.The purpose of this service is to enable tourists to visit sites of major interest on the Island of Gozo that cannot be easily reached by public transport.

To me it looks like a great idea. Haven’t heard much about it though, so I don’t know how successful it was. Anyone heard about it?

No. Sounds like a fantastic idea. I always took a car to Gozo because of the rather weak transport system.

Exactly…I have never been on a bus in Gozo, but my friends who are from Gozo are always complaining about the transport system and the frequency of the buses!
