Have you ever tried calling abroad using long distance calling cards? I have used such cards a couple of years ago, when I needed to call someone abroad and I found them as quite a cheap option to phoning from our landline. Nowadays you can find a number of options, such as 3longdistance, who offer a number of services targeted to residential, student and business users. You can browse their site and find the region where you want to call to check the rates; for instance you could find the rates for Calling Dominican Republic or any other region. If you need to call someone abroad it would be a good idea to check the rates of such phone cards as they might work out cheaper.
