Although not very common here in Malta, conservatories are very popular abroad, such as in the UK, especially since houses there have large back gardens. Conservatories can be considered as an extension to the current building – a space in the home which can be used all year round for various purposes.
One can use a conservatory for various purposes, such as an extra living room, a playing area for the kids or as an indoor garden.
I was having a look at a website of a company who specialize in Conservatories. They have various styles available, and to choose the best one all depends on the style of the house and also the size which best fits the place. They also have a section explaining how to build your own conservatory, step by step, which I found interesting.
In my ideal home, if I were living abroad, I picture having a large well-kept back garden, with a conservatory overlooking it. In winter, after a long day at work, I would sit in the conservatory with my laptop or with a good book, with a mug of hot chocolate looking at the snow falling outside
Now wouldn’t that be really cool?
