Credit Cards - a necessary evil?
posted by kry in PPPCredit cards have become very popular nowadays – a lot of people own them and it can be said that in certain cases, for some people, they have become a necessary evil.
However I believe that the most important thing is to be able to control oneself – always buy things which are within budget. If this is not done, one can easily get into debt and in the worst case it may lead to an uncontrollable situation. Personally I have owned a credit card for the past 7 years. At first I applied for it to be able to buy things online, but nowadays I also occasionally use it when I go shopping. However I always make sure that I stick to my budget and I make it a point to pay the amount I spent back before the end of the month. In fact I have never incurred any extra charges due to unpaid balances. I just discovered that abroad, if normally one pays the balance in full every month then credit cards with cash back could help them earn as they spend and also 0% balance transfers exist.
So my advice would be to always try to stick to the budget to avoid paying any unnecessary charges, which in turn will help you be debt-free as much as possible.
