Since I’ve attended the Environmental Policy Making credit at University this semester, I have become more interested in environment-related issues, so I end up reading a lot of related material on the internet. Recently I have come across this.
Basically a number of concerts are going to held around the world on Saturday 7th July 2007 (7-7-07). These are the venues:
Africa
* Cradle of Humankind, near Johannesburg, South Africa
Asia
* Shanghai, China (location to be decided)
* Tokyo Dome, Tokyo, Japan
Australia
* Aussie Stadium, Moore Park, Sydney, Australia
Europe
* Wembley Stadium, London, UK
* AOL Arena, Hamburg, Germany
* Istanbul, Turkey (location to be decided)
North America
* Giants Stadium, East Rutherford, New Jersey, United States
South America
* Copacabana Beach, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
From what I have read, the venues will utilize on-site power generation, efficient methods of energy utilization and sustainable facilities management in an effort to minimize environmental impact.
