Shortwalk is a new blog set up in the UK by a group of postgraduate students in the course of design studies at the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. The aim of this blog is a campaign to encourage Londoners to walk instead of using transport wherever possible. Walking is more environment-friendly, healthier and also cost effective. As part of this blog, they have included a map which shows that a number of tube stations are less than 10 minutes apart on foot. Today they were featured on Londonist. Interesting interview about their campaign.
Some time ago I had already blogged about a similar website, walkit.com. I just enjoy walking, and when I’m in London I make the most of it by walking a lot. Personally when I’m abroad I try to walk as much as possible since it’s a very good way to get to know the place better and have a look at a number of places of interest along the way. Both websites will come in handy next time I’ll be in London ![]()
