We went to the National Archives this afternoon and it was really interesting:)

The people who work there were really helpful and explained to us the history of the place (it is believed that it is the oldest hospital in Europe) and also about the procedure of archiving. More information about the history of the set up of the National Archives can be found here.

It’s amazing in what condition some books are! They have an extensive range of information dating from the British period, including a collection of maps from the war (which I would like to see next time I will go round) as well as the collection of passport data of people amongst many other categories of archives.

Their website is the following:

    Santo Spirito.
My father remembers a time when as kids, they would sneak in there to play. Obviously, it was something like 37-40 years ago and it was nothing as close neither to a hospital nor to the national archives.

Yes I am! If your father’s in the 50-55 year old cohort:), yes, they might know each other.
