Security when booking flights online
posted by kry in generalYesterday we had our first e-Commerce II lecture and at one point the lecturer mentioned Air Malta’s online flight booking system. He was saying that on the internet the flights were more expensive than when he went and booked them from one of the booking offices. At that point, he reminded me of something else related to their online booking system.
I’ve got a flight ticket which was booked through the internet from their website, and after I collected it we realised that the credit card number is written on the ticket!! Now I don’t know if this is done only on flight tickets which are booked online or on all tickets which are paid by credit card, but I don’t think it is safe and ethical to print the full credit card number on the ticket!!! I don’t know the reason why they do it and I also don’t know if other airlines do the same (which I don’t really think so) but with all the talk about privacy and security, this is surely not a good step towards encouraging people to book their flights online!!

bghattilhom xi email issaqsihom ghaliex imma?
Qas bghattilhom ghax immaginajt li ma niehux ragun maghhom..imma nahseb veru ta min nibghatilhom u nara x inhi r-raguni min-naha taghhom - wara kollox jista jkun li ghandhom raguni valida ghalkemm ma narax x’uzu jista jkollu credit card number fuq flight ticket
Forsi kien xi zball ukoll hux, jew xi haga temporanja. Ma taghmilx sens, imma, u ghandek ragun… ghallinqas inehhu l-ahhar ftit numru u jibdluhom b’asterisk.
Tajjeb li tistaqsihom imma, specjalment peress li ghandek il-provi (it-ticket li tawk).
Ezatt..iddecidejt li nibghatilhom email ftit ilu u malli jkolli risposta nghamel update fil-post li ktibt..wara kollox jista jkun li mhix procedura normali u kif ghedt inti - jista jkun li kien zball ukoll.
tajjeb tajjeb… nistenna x’sa tkun ir-risposta mela
