Yesterday I finished my Rule of Law assignment where I had to prepare a book review of Anil’s Ghost, written by Michael Ondaatje, as I had said some time ago.

The review had to be 1,000 words long. At first I thought that was too much, but when I started writing I couldn’t stop. At first, I had gone up to around 2,500, which was way too much!! I spent all day long trying to figure out how to summarise the whole thing, which was really difficult. In the end I had to cut off big parts of it and just mention a few of the themes involved. So now it is at 1,390 words. I am really risking it as the lecturer emphasized more than once that the maximum we can go up to is 1,050. But I just can’t summarise it any more. I’m just hoping that he won’t fail me because of this.

At least I managed to finish it in time for next Monday’s deadline. I will try and post the review here some time next week.
