Decisions and Choices
posted by kry in generalSometimes I read a book and I realise that it reflects a situation which I find myself in at that time. This is one of those times - I am reading a book which is similar to the situation I am in at the moment. It is all about choices and decisions.
Decisions entail an amount of risk. What is best to do? Taking the option with the least risk or being more adventurous and risking everything you have built up til now? Unfortunately you cannot know which decision is best until you take one. Only time can tell. They say that the best time is when you are climbing the mountain. Maybe this is what makes life interesting - striving to fulfil our dreams and looking forward to a brighter future while making choices along the way. When taking decisions which will affect other persons it can be tough. But it can be tougher for those who will have to accept that decision. There is no Win-Win situation. Someone has to let go and the other wins. Either you accept the decision you have been faced with or you don’t.
Once I came across this saying which still comes to my mind when I am faced with a decision:
TO ACHIEVE GREATLY, YOU MUST RISK GREATLY
I must admit that I do not like taking risks. When faced with a decision I always weigh the pros and cons of every option but in the end I always go for the option with less risks. But when that decision does not concern only yourself or is taken by someone else it is tougher. In such cases, trust is the answer. Sometimes you are torn in half - part of you knows what is best but the other half cannot accept the consequences or what might happen. The best thing would be to reach a compromise. But maybe there are times when that compromise cannot happen, so risking could be the answer. Maybe it is true that to achieve greatly, you must risk greatly.

Who dares, wins!
