A new service which enables parents to track their children via their mobile phones is being launched in the UK, and it is being introduced by a company called KidsOK.
All one has to do is text the company and a text message with a description of where their child is, together with a small map, is received back within 60 seconds.
One of the pitfalls is that of course the child has to have the mobile phone switched on for this service to work. Also, it does not work on all networks (it works on O2, Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone but does not work on Virgin or 3). However, this service is another positive aspect of how technology can help improve everyday life.
