On Saturday 27th August, Earth and Mars will be the closest they have ever been - 34, 649, 589 miles away from Earth. It won’t be until the year 2287 that Mars will be so close again!
Therefore this will be our only opportunity to see Mars so close to our planet. Estimated time is 12.30 am.
