As predicted, the transfer of my internet connection isn’t done yet and I don’t have internet at Ghadira!

What happened was that since I changed ISP at the beginning of this month, my other ISP had to send a termination form to Datastream. But even if I had advised them to do so a week before my termination with them, they didn’t send it, so when my current ISP sent the application for the transfer to summer residence, Datastream didn’t accept it since I was still under the other ISP. So at the beginning of this week I advised my old ISP about this and they sent the termination and I contacted my current ISP to inform them about this. This morning when I switched on my laptop I still had internet so of course that meant that they hadn’t transferred it. I phoned Datastream and they told me that my ISP had to send my application again before all the procedure starts, which of course my ISP hadn’t done! When I asked how long it will take for them to give me the connection once they receive the application they said at least one week! So now I have to wait till Monday before the ISP sends my application again.

Let’s see how I will manage for at least one week without internet…

I survive in Ghadira by using the Internet cafes at the Luna and Seabank hotels. It’s expensive but at least I get to read email and most of the blogs :-)

    Thanks for the info:)

Believe me this transfer of ADSL every summer is a headache!

    Datastream. *sigh*

This is also a headache in UK although BT seem to do the job quicker.

Mind you, AOL is still the worst ISP I had ever used. It’s fine when you don’t have any problems, but if you have, it’s definately impossible to resolve it with indian customer support!
